A slightly protracted design and development (the pitfalls of being a freelancer, and having a 9-5) meant that more time than normal passed between the design stage of this project, and actually finishing the development. It did however, mean than I was able to spend time on some of the minutae of the design, and perfect certain elements, where on shorter projects, they might have been overlooked. Expression Engine, jQuery and some mean CSS were the rocks on which UKD was built, and it's pretty solid from a hosting point of view too!

In the end though, the site worked out well, and the client is happy with the overall result (despite the timeframes involved) - as am I. If every project teaches you something new, the lesson on this one would be; "Don't take on more work than you can realistically fit into your day!".
